Where Are You Going?
The thing I enjoy most about picking up a book and reading or moving the pen along the page is the exploration of new worlds. To go away all I need do is sit at my desk and write. If not that, then curl up under the covers on the sofa with some coffee or chamomile tea as I delve into the pages of a good read.
There are days I enter magical worlds, such as that of Hogwarts. Others, I wonder about those that are brimming with adventure like R.A. Salvatore’s menacing, hierarchy buried deep within the gloom of the Underdark.
As a person who rarely goes outside her own front door, and has not seen too much of the world it is within the pages of other’s works I find my most exciting adventures. Though I have to admit, there are a number of places I would like to go.
In reality, I harbor dreams of visiting much of Europe so as to appreciate the architecture along with history. I would also very much like to go to some curious places in my own country. I have always had a hankering for some real cajun cooking and New Orleans flavor!
Then, of course, there are some unreal places I would roam if I could. Guess that is either the dreamer, writer, or inner child within me screaming to get out.
If I could I would:
- Sail on board a pirate ship and experience first hand that open air and freedom it offers.
- Explore secret passages, tunnels, dungeons, as well as laboratories hidden within castle walls.
- Search ancient ruins for lost cultures, history, relics all just for the sake of learning about them…for knowledge sometimes is a beauty of its own that only the mind can truly appreciate.
- Go back in time to meet people regarded as heroes and villains in the pages of history to live what they did.
Where would you go?
