Living My Dream
The pen found me at a young age. In writing I have found a great many things:
Above all else though, what I discovered was something unexpected…
I am not talking the kind of blind devotion that borders infatuation, which is both intense but fleeting. I am talking a burning, endless aching need. Passion that becomes so deeply rooted that it stirs from you not only great emotion, but also a strong desire. The deepest desire of my heart is to write.
When I wake up each and every day I am eager to take up the pen. In the art of forming words, there is no judgement. There is no fear. There is only you and the world in which you create or the observations, feelings, or thoughts in which you make. It can be a place of solitude…a place of peace. At the same time, it can be a raging storm to even an exiting life of adventure on the open sea.
And that is something no one can ever take away…
My story is not one I think to be much different from yours…
I am a 32 year old woman who has big dreams. The biggest dreams I entertain are those of getting published and building a fan base. Those are goals I have had since a young age. My love for writing came when I was in junior high. The first works I remember bringing to life on paper began as nothing more than a series of questions.
- Why do I exist?
- What is my purpose?
- Why do things happen?
- How do we endure them?
- How can we exhibit certain feelings that are often unrequited?
As I matured, so too did the style of my work. Questions transformed into descriptive stanzas that painted pictures of thoughts, feelings, places, people, as well as cherished memories. Eventually I grew bolder. Poetry grew into song, song into plays. Plays graduated as I did, into short stories.
Now… I embark on the most exciting journey of my life… the completion and hopefully publication of a series of books!
This adventure though, just would not be the same without the expression of words, written by myself and some of the most amazing and talented people I know. For without them… I could not do what I do the way in which I do.
